Topps Tiles trade app passes 46,000 downloads as online sales reach a quarter of revenue
The tile distributor's full-year trading update puts group revenue excluding CTD at about £267m, with online sales climbing to 25.6% of revenue in the final quarter and Pro Tiler Tools up 18.2%.

Topps Tiles plc has reported revenue of about £267m excluding CTD for the 52 weeks to 26 September 2026, up about 0.7%, with its new trade app passing 46,000 downloads and online sales reaching a quarter of group revenue in the final quarter.
Including CTD, group revenue was about £292m, down about 1.3% year on year. The company said this reflected the prior-year closure of CTD stores and the previously announced closure of underperforming Topps Tiles stores.
The group said it expects adjusted profit before tax for the year to be in line with company-compiled analyst consensus of £6.6m as at 30 September 2026. In July it had guided to a figure above £6.5m.
Alex Jensen, Chief Executive of Topps Tiles, said, according to the Tile Association's report of the update: "We're proud of a resilient performance in challenging market conditions, and a solid result against a difficult backdrop."
Trade and like-for-like sales
Topps Tiles like-for-like revenue was down about 0.1%, with fourth-quarter trading affected by periods of extreme heat, the company said. Like-for-like sales improved in September, and the business said it continued to outperform the wider market, which it put as declining about 1.7% over the financial year.
Group trade revenue including CTD was down about 1.4% year on year, again with heat cited as a factor. Pro Tiler Tools, the group's online tools business, delivered record revenue of about £42m, up about 18.2%.
CTD currently trades from 23 stores, compared with 31 in the prior year, according to the trading update. Topps Tiles bought 30 CTD Tiles stores for £9m in August 2024, when the Tile Association reported the stores had sales of about £20m in the year to June 2024.
The digital push
Online revenue including CTD reached about 25.6% of group revenue in the fourth quarter and about 22.7% for the full year, up about 3.7 percentage points. In the third-quarter update of 1 July 2026, the quarterly figure stood at 23.3%.
| Quarter | Online share of group revenue (incl. CTD) |
|---|---|
| Q3 FY26 | 23.3% |
| Q4 FY26 | 25.6% |
For comparison, the group's FY25 results in December 2025 gave digital penetration excluding CTD of 21.1%, up from 18.5% in FY24.
The Topps Tiles Trade App, built and launched with mobile consultancy Apadmi, had almost 11,000 downloads in its first month, according to the July update. The full-year update puts the total at more than 46,000.
Apadmi said the app gives tradespeople real-time stock visibility across more than 280 stores, a TradePay credit facility letting customers pay later through Topps Tiles' credit scheme, and a built-in tile calculator for quantity and cost estimation.
Sian Garvey, Digital Director, Topps Tiles, said in Apadmi's announcement: "Our trade customers are central to everything we do, and they deserve tools that genuinely make their working lives easier."
Fired Earth
The company said the acquisition and integration of Fired Earth was profit accretive in the year. The group bought the Fired Earth brand, intellectual property, website and an estimated £2.5m of stock for £3m in November 2025, according to the Tile Association. Fired Earth is an Oxford-based brand registered in 1983.
